Bruce Steer Pool is named in honour  of Colonel John Mansel Bruce Steer (1898 - 1959) a Bermagui local who played a major role in the harbour reconstruction and the implementation of better conditions for professional fishermen. This beautiful netted saltwater pool is mostly protected from the wind as it is nestled below the headland.  Ideal for young children, it has a sandy beach with shaded areas and seating. The all-abilities access ramp has handrails and non-slip FRP mini mesh allowing wheelchair access to the pool. There is also an all-abilities amenities block, level disabled parking with ramp access to the beach
