Sugar Glider Possum giclee print

28x 36cm

Like many of our other bush buddies, these little guys have suffered in the path of bushfires. I’ve heard stories of them landing on the shoulders of firefighters and wildlife rescuers as if to say ‘get me outa here’. These little cuties love sugary foods including nectar, pollen, acacia, and eucalyptus tree sap. They’ve also been observed searching tree cones for spiders and beetles. They are a palm size possum and can glide half the length of a soccer field in one trip.  They nest in tree hollows with up to 10 other adults to keep warm in winter months. Females have one or two babies, called joeys, at least once a year and they stay with their mothers until they’re 7 to 10 months old. Lifespan of a sugar glider is up to 9 years in the wild.

Proceeds of the original artwork will be donated to WIRES to support the rescue and rehabilitation of Native Australian Fauna
